| CBJ&R |
- CBJ&R makes one of its rare appearances at
Poe's Pub. The C stands for Cy Taggart, who has played with dozens of local
bands in the area, including Solid Gold Fishbowl and the Boucan Brothers. You
can also catch him in a duo performance with Scott Haskins at Breakers,
Saturday, March 11.
The B is Bobby Jorgenson, a long-time local band veteran who fronted
Stepchilde, then went on to Stiff Richard, Solid Ground, October, and
Grumbledog. He currently also is the lead singer in the Colossal Eds and the
bass player in Mozo.
The J is John Leedes, whose band history is even longer, and that's only this
week. He currently plays in King Solomon's Marbles, the Gary Gerloff Band, and
the Bart Chucker Band.
And R is for Rod Hyner, also in the Boucan Brothers, Michael James and the
Actual Facts, and Princess Tone, among others.
Rod plays congas, while the others are on guitars and harmonies. Cy brightens
the set with mandolin and lap steel from time to time. Their covers range from
bluegrass to Zappa, and include music made famous by the Darling family of the
Andy Griffith Show. It's fun for all ages.
